Bob and Doc June 20, 2004

We needed to try out something different for Father's Day! So our entire family headed out for the Olmstead trail system. Since Breezy was tuckered out after a rigorous trail ride yesterday, we planned on taking our two green horses...Harley and Doc. Something VERY new and different!

Harley is needing a chance to develop his ability to be on the trail. What better way to cover all these bases than to head out the paved fire road with the two green horses? Bob rode Doc. Michaela, my ten year old daughter, perched bareback on Harley (I led Harley) and Daniel rode his bike! Everyone was happy! Well, except for Mom, maybe, as I prefer to ride, too! But oh well! LOL!

We just walked down the fire road about 15 minutes. Harley did an awesome job doing that with Michaela on him. I had her get off of him for the walk back. Doc was wondering about all the things we changed on him from his typical routine, no doubt, but he did really well anyhow.

After arriving safely back at the trail, I asked Harley if I could get on him for a minute or two. I took him out the trailhead...and he walked away from the trailer and through the metal gate like an old pro! Off down the trail we headed and I half way thought about hollering "See ya!" to the family! LOL!

Surely, this isn't the horse that I have been told FREAKS on the trail?

Isn't he pretty?

Well, his new saddle is due to arrive in July and I can't wait! He just may be ready for the trail sooner than I think. I am thrilled! Breezy needs to be spared the weight of an adult and so Doc may begin to be my husband's mount until he is ready to be the mount for a kid.
